John Fleming fields criticism over 600K income
By Frank Elias Georgalis|
It is somehow a well known fact that some of the old emperors and kings thought they were part god and will not die. When one of Pharaohs was told by a doctor hat he was going to die in less than a month he did not believe because he said he was God and Gods don’t die and he killed the doctor for insulting him. Well, needless to say he died on time. The next king, hearing how the other died, believing though, being from the Egyptian faith, that there was a life after death, he started the pyramids that I call “FAIRWAY TO HEAVEN”
John Fleming, a Republican congressman from Louisiana, I predict that he will die too, but before he dies has got to be added to my SHIP OF SHAME, note he is a member of the growing, bipartisan list of relatively well-off politicians who may want to revisit the way they discuss their income in public.
During an MSNBC interview to discuss income and taxation, Fleming turned blue in the face and looked as if somebody was choking him. He opposes President Obama’s tax increase on those earning more than $1 million per year, host Chris Jansing said that Fleming has an income of more than $6 million. Fleming quickly corrected her, saying he actually takes in a fraction of that gross amount–about $600,000. That can be the truth after he started shaving his income for the purpose of taxation and fattened up his imaginary expenses. Right there he is lying like a Persian rug. “Mr. Fleming, as you are telling us that you only make $600,000 per year why are you criticizing Obama for imposing higher taxes on the ones who make over a million? That goes to show you; having men like him in congress we need no enemies.
“The amount that I have to reinvest in my business does not leave me with enough to make it sound business,” he claimed. He is collecting $274,000 per year for being a congressman but he has business to attend in the meantime plus a medical practice. as FAR AS ANY RED BLOODED American IS CONSERN THE MONEY HE RECEIVES FROM OUR GOVERNMENT comes under the ruling of Theft by Deception. Theft by deception IS A CRIMINAL OFFENSE PUNISHABLE BY JAIL. “It does not leave me with enough feed my family is more like $600,000 of that $6.3 million,” Fleming explained. “So by the time I feed my family I have, maybe, $400,000 left over to invest in new locations, upgrade my locations, and buy more equipment.”
Fleming owns a string of Subway sandwich shops and UPS store franchises that earned a gross income of about $6.3 million last year, according to a review of the congressman’s finances in The Wall Street Journal.
Jansing went on to tell Fleming that even if his annual personal income of $200,000 from those ventures was “not exactly a sympathetic position” from which to make the case for lower taxes on the wealthy.
“You do understand, congressman, that the average person out there who’s making maybe 40, 50, $60,000 out there, when they hear you only have $400,000 left over, it’s not exactly a sympathetic position,” she said. “You understand that?”
“Class warfare’s never created a job,” Fleming responded. “And that’s people that will not get jobs. This is all about creating jobs, Chris; this is not about attacking people who make certain incomes. You know in this country, most people feel that being successful in their business is a virtue, not a vice, and once we begin to identify it as a vice, this country is going down.”
A note from the author: “There is nothing virtuous about you, Mr. Fleming, it is a vice when you are employed by the U.S. Government getting a vary hefty pay of $274,000 plus benefits and you are stealing time from your job to attend your virtuous enterprise.|
Fleming was merely pointing out a consequence of tax increases–those business owners will have less money to re-invest and hire new workers if they decline to take a pay cut. But his message likely won’t resonate, as Jansing said, with “average Americans.”
Lawmakers in both parties have long found themselves appearing removed from reality. From scenarios of former Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry windsurfing off Nantucket in 2004 to current Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich’s six-figure tab at Tiffany’s in 2011, national politicians because of their greed and stupidity can find themselves treading a fine line when it comes to discussing their wealth, especially during tough economic times. I must say that this is the worse breed of politicians this country has ever known. They have more games up their sleeves than all the casinos from Atlantic City to the last one in Nevada. This reminds of the New York City Blue Wall where most of the police were involved in some vice but none had the guts to tell on the other, until Serpico came alone and caused many heads to roll. People should understand that all the congressmen from both sides of the aisle live on glass houses and no one has the balls to throw a stone at the other. The only thing I can say to them without being as trashy as they are, “They better hope and pray that there is no God if there is one I hate to imagine the penalty they will pay for treating the American People as trashy as they themselves are.” The only thing that I can tell myself not to make my web site as trashy as they are and the only way I can stop that is not to write about trashy people. The English version of the Holy Bible says: “Sins of the parents will fall upon the children,” That is different from the first Holy Bile which was written in Greek. Firstly the Greek language had no word as a SIN, but the word was deeds; and it goes like this: “The deeds of the parents will teach their children.” What kind of teachings those politicians are handing down to their children? People, wait for their new generation it will be worse than this.” God Bless America and God help us all; we need it.
Others may want to take note.
