4 Easy Steps to Restructure Your Life

To Begin The Beginning

By

Frank Georgalis

Industrialist Henry Ford used to preach to his employees. “Don’t Fix It Unless It’s Broken.”                                                                                                                              Here Henry Ford was speaking of automobiles and not the human brain. We all know and believe that the automobile can run on two working spark plugs which means on two cylinders, but the performance is limited. We or a car mechanic can fix the problem and the car is back on running with all cylinders working well. It is safe to say now that the car was running on 50% of its power if it had four cylinders.

I hear all the time people saying that our brain works 10% of its capacity. In other words what I understand them saying is that out of ten cylinders we have in our brain only one is working. I haven’t heard and I haven’t read anywhere of any notable brain mechanics making such a statement, but they all say that our brain is not working at its full capacity, so they wrote tons and tons of books telling us what we have to do to improve our brain performance. These people who are noted to be, my definition, the brain mechanics starting with Socrates, Plato, Aristotle, Aristophanes and many other and more recent ones including the American Dr. Vincent Peale and before him the Frenchman Emile Coue, tried to start the other cylinders by igniting the plugs of the brain, realizing that not all of them are working. They all say the same thing in a different way and they all remind me of the many exercise programs on TV and gymnasiums which look the same way and are doing the same thing. Some ofthese poisitive thing instructors crtisize each other but in more ways than one and they do copy each others ideas.

Émile Coué de Châtaigneraie (February 26, 1857 – July 2, 1926) was a French psychologist and pharmacist who introduced a method of phychotherapy based on optimistic autosuggestion.

The Coué method centers on a routine repetition of this particular expression according to a specified ritual, in a given physical state, and in the absence of any sort of allied mental imagery, at the beginning and at the end of each day.unlike a common held belief that a strong conscious will constitutes the best path to success, Coué maintained healing or getting rid of troubles requires a change in our unconscious thought, which is acquired by the use of imagination. Although stressing that he was not primarily a healer but one who taught others to heal themselves. Although Coué’s teachings were, during his lifetime, more popular in Europe than in the United States, many Americans who adopted his ideas and methods, such as Norman Vincent Peale, Robert H. Schuller, and many other phychologists and well known positive thinking advocates, became famous in their own right by spreading his words. I must admit at this point that some of  my writings contain much information from his writings. I have no room on this paper to put down all the names of all the Brain Mechanics in the world, but I am going to touch upon a few and I will try to describe their nature of tools if I can. They all believed that our brain needs help, so they sped to our way, not holding screw drivers and pliers as auto mechanics do, but at first they appeared holding papers representing degrees of various schools telling us who they are and later on they came along holding tons of paper of books they have written, telling us what we are. One thing must be noted, the needy of help, don’t get me wrong, we are all in need of help in that department, but the ones who admitted they need help, by believing, listening and reading they improved their lives. I am not a brain mechanic, on the other if I am, I am one of those mechanics who fix other people’s cars but he drives his car on two working cylinders. I am more of a pointer; like dog that points to where the bird is hiding in the bush. I am speaking to you like a Dutch uncle. The article you are now reading is a part of many articles I have written and will be published on regular basis on this web site, are products of much research and study that my colleagues and I have made. We have studied and analyzed what the devoted experts have written. It is a fact that many people have followed the writings of these experts and have improved their lives significantly. We, being folks of letters and arithmetic, the basic tools for the use of common sense have come up with something that will help people who are looking to be helped. Listen to what I am saying: people who are looking to be helped. It is written in the Holy Bible that people who were lost in the desert and darkness asked God to help them to find their wait out of the desert and darkness into the light. God, according to the Holy Bible, is the good spirit of mercy; didn’t he know that those people were lost; did they really have to ask for his help? Oh yes, God knew but he waited to hear from them to realize they needed his help. You must have heard that God helps the ones who help themselves. Attending grade school in Greece, the first story I remember reading was about three fishermen getting lost in the storm during a rough weather. All three fishermen, terrified by the high waves, the rain that came down filling their little fishing boat with water and the fierce blowing of the wind and the thundering and lightning, went down on their knees and began praying to God to save them. In the midst of that natures madness, while the fishermen were crying for help, down on their knees, a voice came from behind the dark and low clouds: “I am God and I am willing to help you if you get off your knees and start taking the water out of you boat, look to see where you are and head for the nearest point of land.”

You may not be drowning like the fishermen or you may not even be lost, but reading my articles you will be helped. Just remember what I say and have written in others writings; “The moment you stop trying to be better you are no longer good.”

Note that God told the three lost and terrified fishermen to find out where they were. For you to find out where you are you must appraise yourself. The method of self appraisal is consisted of 4 steps. You must appraise yourself, physically, mentally, spiritually and socially. This all leads to the top of your stairs, which may be called the plateau of happier life.  My next articles will help you appraise yourself and once you know where you are you may then head for the land of better life and safety.
