Astakos: His place of Birth
Frank Elias Georgalis
Frank Elias Georgalis was born in Astakos Greece, a small fishing village on the Ionian coast, western Greece, 20 miles from Ithaca, the home of Homer’s Ulysses. His childhood during the civil war in Greece inspired much of his writings. When Frank was a teenager his parents and their 3 children immigrated to the USA and settled in Danville Illinois. Attending high school and college in the Midwest Frank developed a love of the English language and eventually became a public speaker for many financial institutions. He entered the US Army and was assigned to a reconnaissance group on the German-Czechoslovakian border where he served his time at the peak of the cold war. Injured and Incapacitated he remained lost in the forest for several days, he was eventually rescued and carried five miles on the back of a fellow officer and was later air lifted to Walter Reed Army hospital in Washington, D.C. There he spent many months convalescing and honing his writing skills while in rehabilitation. Shortly thereafter, seeking a career he moved to the New York area and became involved in real estate, building and finance. His employers often called on his speaking skills for sales presentations and motivational seminars. It was at these public speaking events that his book “The Barefoot Evangelist” was born. He eventually married a woman from his home town and has one son, a dentist/physician who practices in Greece.
During the past 30 years he has written four novels, many short stories and several screen plays. Most of his writings are based on true life experiences garnished with humor, philosophy, love, religion and faith, romance and mystery and fantasy . He has been known to say that he lives in the world of imagination during the time he writes, but he comes down to earth and joins the world of reality, which he calls the unbearable world of reality. Even though some of his writings are true based on fiction, faith and fantasy. He believes what ever he writes has happened in the past, is happening now or will happen in the future. All of his writings have twists and turns and finish with an unexpected end.
He is now the owner of a very succesful web site (frankegeorgalis.com). His web site is a variety of many topics such, political observations, legislative satire, health, many commentary articles that tend to rub the American and many other country politics the wrong way, therefore he has been given the title of “Controversial” He has written the religious historical novel, “Salome” that tends to rub Christianity the wrong way His controversy is not based on pursuing fame and fortune, but it’s based on true personal feelings and studied thoughts. He tends to be disordered and undisciplined, for that he blames on the fact; spending the first years of his life in the wilderness and the mountains of Greece, he adopted some of nature’s ways.
Frank Elias Georgalis goes in with his writings where other writers stay out.
He claims that he has never killed anybody, but he wished many dead. When he reads some have died, he feels glad for not getting to them first.
Frank is a very unique writer. He copies no one, he follows no rules in publishing, he writes as if he is speaking to you. He never uses foul language, dirty words or unclean phases He makes things simple and understanding, informative and yet entertaining. One of the editors said that “Frank writes with his heart. He is a natural born writer.”
Frank Georgalis has lived in Mexico, Germany, Greece, Philippines, and Thailand. He now resides in unknown place and has devoted himself to his writings. His works reflect his admiration of Greek Mythology, which he identifies as the basis for all modern religion and western civilization. Those who know him well often refer to him as a philosopher, he labels himself merely as an observer of nature. His trust and belief is in God is boundless. He is against same sex marriage and believes that homosexuals are not born as such but they are environmentally made.
In a discussion with others about homosexuality, who tend to disagree with him, he brings out the Holy Bible where Jesus said that “A man is not to wear a woman’s clothes and a woman is not to wear a man’s clothes” On this Franks adds to clearly that “If Jesus thought that homosexuals are born as such he would say to us to be understanding for their behavior.
He dislikes American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) and he refers to them as the EXTERMINATORS of religion and American Culture. He also refers to them as a bunch of men and women who have declared war against their parents. He gets viciously angry when he feels that American Culture that took so long to make it, is threatened. His writings indicate that he tends to be very comparative and depicts some violence.
